RESIDENTIAL

In 2021, the Whangārei District Council forecast a 45% population growth increase for the district and DC Group has consciously invested in various residential portfolios to help meet this future demand.

DC Group has led a project to convert the ex-Harbour Board land at Port Nikau into an exciting urban-designed, 1200-dwelling masterplan that is now part of the Whangārei District Plan. Starting by implementing the masterplan starting with precinct subdivisions, resource consents and earthworks, allowing the development to proceed over the coming years.

DC Group also manages the residential subdivision at Kotātā Heights on behalf of Kotātā Developments Ltd. The subdivision consists of seven stages and more than 250 residential lots, with future stages already in the planning phase.

Marine

DC Group manages the Port Nikau berthage and facilities, which host a range of vessels such as commercial ships, superyachts and launches, fishing boats, workboats and charter vessels. The wharves are used by many vessels as a base for large refit work within Whangārei’s world-renowned marine precinct, with an extensive range of marine businesses in the area offering their expertise, as Port Nikau was formerly home to Whangārei’s city port until 2007.

DC Group has managed the marine facilities on behalf of Port Nikau for the past decade and is helping to manage the expanding number of piers and berths, and upgrades to facilities to berth holders throughout the development.

COMMERCIAL

DC Group project manages land subdivision, new commercial builds and site developments as well as a portfolio of existing tenants. The popular Logyard Road area in Whangārei has grown significantly since the first lots became available in 2015 and now supports a wide range of industries such as transport, engineering and manufacturing.

DC Group also manages property in Radiata Grove on behalf of Westpoint Landholdings Ltd. This block consists of established forestry as well as a range of tenanted commercial buildings. Its central location makes it a convenient location for a range of rural and commercial activities.

FORESTRY

DC Group has a long history in the forestry sector in Northland. Executive Directors Clare and Tony Davies-Colley previously owned a large radiata sawmill in Whangārei, which they sold in 2006. Through forestry interests, DC Group takes care to utilise land appropriately, enabling sustainable rotations while also overseeing pest management of these forests along with the NZ Emissions Trading Scheme.
